The printing method of sublimation
To begin, a design is printed on special paper. When the inks are heated, they turn into gas, which then reacts with the cloth to generate a permanent print. The effects are more durable and less prone to fading since the ink is embedded in the fabric or substrate rather than simply sitting on top like a standard print. It’s almost like getting a tattoo, only it’s for your chosen product instead of your skin. With the applied pressure, the heat opens the pores of the fabric, and the ink cools and returns to a solid state. The end result is a permanent full-color image that will not break, peel, or wash away from the substrate. Similar to how dry ice works, the process allows the ink to shift from solid to a gas without becoming liquid. The conversion is started by heat and then regulated by pressure. Sublimation printing is characterised as “all over printing” because it allows you to create a design that can literally go from seam to seam.
